THE PANTHERS

• The Panthers move to 6-10 on the season at 1-2 in the MVC after falling to Illinois State in the Normal, Illinois on Tuesday night.

• The Panthers take on the Bulldogs of Drake University in the McLeod Center on Sunday. The Panthers hold the series lead 46-26.

• Head Coach Ben Jacobson is 17-8 against the Bulldogs and holds an 8-4 record at home.

• UNI has made at least one 3-Pointer in 610 straight games – the longest active streak in the Missouri Valley Conference.

• Tywhon Pickford finished with 11 points in 25 minutes on the court against Illinois State on Tuesday. The MVC All-Freshman team member finished with five rebounds, four assist and 2 steals in the Panthers 70-69 loss to the Redbirds.

• Freshman AJ Green leads all Panthers in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game.

• Isaiah Brown has turned it up in MVC play. The junior guard has recorded 26 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals in the Panthers 3 MVC games.

• Making 8 of his 16 three-point attempts, Trae Berhow ranks fourth in the league in 3 point field goal percentage.

• The Panthers have given up the third fewest points in the MVC after three league games. Defensively the Panthers have given up 58.3 points per game, trailing Valparaiso and Illinois State.

• Four Panthers rank in the top 30 in MVC three-pointers made per game. Trae Berhow ranks 5th (2.7), AJ Green ranks 11th (2.0), Wyatt Lohaus ranks 12th (2.0), Isaiah Brown ranks 25th (1.0).

• Sixteen games in, freshman guard AJ Green has gone 40-47 from the line for a .851 free throw percentage, the mark ranks third in the league behind Drake's Nick Norton and Indiana State's Jordan Barnes.

• Luke McDonnell ranks 3rd in the league with 2.3 offensive rebounds per game this season while Trae Berhow hauls in 5.3 defensive rebounds per game, ranking him 5th in that category.

THE BULLDOGS

• The Drake Bulldogs are riding high in 2018-19, off to a 12-4 start the Bulldogs have wins over Texas State, Boise State, New Mexico State and won a 110-103 shootout with San Diego.

• The Bulldogs are 1-2 in MVC play after defeating the Salukis of Southern Illinois 82-70 on Tuesday.

• Nick McGlynn and DJ Wilkins are the only two players to start every game for the Bulldogs this season. McGlynn has made 55 percent of his shots this season and leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 16.4 points per game.

• Wilkins has done his damage from beyond the three-point arc, making 36 three-pointers in the team's first 16 games.

•The Bulldogs are led by first-year Head Coach Darian DeVries. DeVries, an Iowa native and veteran coach with experience in the BIG EAST and Missouri Valley Conferences, became the head coach of the Drake University men's basketball program on March 29, 2018.

• DeVries inherited a Drake roster with just one returning starter but quickly assembled a staff and team poised to elevate the Bulldogs' trajectory.

•DeVries' first recruiting class included a junior college All-American, graduate transfers with all-conference pedigrees, a 7-footer, and international talent.

• Before taking over the Bulldogs' program, DeVries was an assistant coach at Creighton University for 17 years and spent 20 total seasons on staff with the Bluejays. During that span, he helped guide the Bluejays to 19 postseason appearances and 12 NCAA Tournament berths.

•DeVries, 43, was one of the longest-tenured men's basketball assistant coaches at one school in the nation and assisted the Bluejays in their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last seven years before earning the Drake position.

• During his time on the Creighton staff under both Dana Altman and Greg McDermott, the program accumulated a record of 460-211 and 231-129 in conference games.
