NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State's Tete Maggett hit a pair of free throws before a jumper by UNI's Karli Rucker missed the mark in the final seconds to see ISU pull out a 66-64 win over UNI in women's basketball action Friday at Redbird Arena.

The Panthers led for most of the game and led 57-48 with 8:17 remaining in the game before Illinois State went on a 14-2 run to take a 62-59 lead with 4:12 left to play.

The Panthers regained a 64-62 lead with 3:28 to play. ISU tied the game on the ensuing possession. Then both teams went ice cold over the final 3:10 of the game with the only points coming from Meggett's free throws with 29 seconds left on the clock.

The win drops UNI to 7-6 on the year, while Illinois State is now 8-4.

Ellie Howell scored a team-high 14 points to lead the way for UNI. Cynthia Wolf scored a career-high 12 points, with 11 coming in the first half.

UP NEXT: The Panthers return to action Sunday in Peoria against Bradley. The Braves dropped their conference opener to Drake, 92-63.
