CEDAR FALLS, Iowa— The UNI swimming and diving team will conclude its regular season against Iowa and Western Illinois 6 p.m. Feb. 1 in Iowa City.

The Panthers fell to the Hawkeyes last season in Iowa City. Katie Taylor, Moriah Ross and Kylie Engstrom each had strong performances. Taylor earned first-place nods in the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 IM. Ross earned a first-place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Engstrom earned top-3 finishes in the distance events. Alyssa Deuso led the Panthers against the Hawkeyes.

Against the Western Illinois Leathernecks, Crystal Florman was a strong competitor for the Panthers taking first in the 100 backstroke and runner-up honors in the 100 freestyle. Ross led all competitors in the 200 breaststroke, while Kelsey Ostrowski took top honors in the 200 backstroke. Jayden Lovell led the divers for the Panthers against the Leathernecks.

Last Time in Action

The Panthers reset seven pool records in their final home meet. Taylor led all competition in the 100 backstroke (55.85), 200 backstroke (2:01.17), and 200 IM (2:04.85), resetting each record.
Ross swam into first-place in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a 1:04.14. Florman took top honors in the 50 (23.49) and 100 (56.43)freestyles.
In the distance races, Kylie Engstrom would take the top spot in the 1000 freestyle. Jordan McCullough would take top honors in the 500 freestyle.
Taylor, Ross, Florman, and Abby Meyer would time in at 1:45.17 in the 200 medley relay, resetting the pool record at UNI.
Deuso and Lovell led the Panthers on the boards. Deuso led on the 1-meter boards, while Lovell took runner-up honors on the 3-meter boards.
