THE WEEK
UNI is coming off the most complete weekend of the season so far with a pair of 20-plus point wins with strong defense and efficient offense. The Panthers topped Evansville 74-46 after not allowing a field goal until nearly two minutes into the second quarter. Sunday, UNI dominated the paint and picked up the 71-51 win.
Rucker leads the way for UNI at 14.7 points per game and Ellie Howell averages 10.4 PPG. Bre Gunnels is the leading rebounder at 4.7 RPG. The Panthers are 7-1 at home.
Friday, the Panthers take on a Southern Illinois team that is 10-8 on the year and 3-4 in MVC play. The Salukis are led by Nicole Martin who averages 15.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Two other players average double figures. SIU has won two consecutive games, but lost the previous four they are 8-1 at home, but just 1-6 on the road.
Sunday, the Panthers host Missouri State, which remains unbeaten in Valley play and has the longest win streak in the conference at 10 games. Two players, Danielle Gitzen and Alexa Willard average double figures, and they go deep into the bench. The Bears faced a brutal non-conference schedule, but the tough early slate is paying off in MVC play.

Friday's game will be the annual "We Back Pat" game for Alzheimer's awareness. Saturday will be the Kids Club game.
