AMES, Iowa— Katie Taylor led the way for the UNI swimming and diving team with three first-place finishes, as the Panthers fell to Iowa State 179-121.
Katie Taylor timed in at fifty-four seconds and seventy-two hundredths of a second (54.72) in the 100 backstroke to lead all competitors. Taylor clocked in at 1:59.84 in the 200 backstroke for first-place. In the 200 IM, Taylor timed in at 2:04.48 for first-place.
Moriah Ross captured first-place in the 100 breaststroke, swimming a 1:04.96. Ross would lead all competitors in the 200 breaststroke, timing in at 2:19.78.
Crystal Florman clocked in at 51.63 in the 100 freestyle to lead all competitors. In the 100 butterfly, Florman clocked in at 56.56 for first-place.
Kylie Engstrom edged out all competitors in the 1000 freestyle, swimming a 10:25.28 in the event.
Engstrom, Rachelle Houlette, Jenna Willer, and Abby Meyer would swim a 3:38.78 in the 400 freestyle relay for second place. In the 200 medley relay, Taylor, Ross, Florman, and Meyer timed in at 1:44.36 for second-place.
Florman led the Panthers in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 23.98 for second-place.
Kelsey Ostrowski clocked in at 2:12.68 in the 200 butterfly for second-place.
Engstrom timed in at 5:09.05 in the 500 freestyle to finish in third-place.
Ross swam a 2:10.33 in the 200 IM for third-place.
Jordan McCullough led the Panthers in the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:57.44 for fourth-place.
In the diving well, Alyssa Deuso led the Panthers on the 3-meter boards, scoring a 252.30 for third-place. Jayden Lovell earned fourth-place with an even score of 250. Mary Kate Ferlmann dove a 235.35 for fifth in the event. Deuso would lead the Panthers on 1-meter boards, diving a 248.10 for third-place. Lovell scored a 239.80 for fourth-place on the 1-meter boards.
