Skudlarczyk got the takedown needed for the 8-6 decision.
A penalty point against Nebraska for hands to the face gave UNI's No. 8 Josh Alber a 1-0 lead after the first period against No. 20 Chad Red Jr. in the 141-pound match. Alber's two takedowns propelled him to a 6-4 decision over Nebraska's All-American to give UNI its first lead in team scoring. Red was seventh at last year's national championships.
No. 8 Max Thomsen was the first to strike at 149 pounds and led the entire match to beat Collin Purinton, 10-4.
The Panthers' three-match win streak ended at 157 pounds. No. 12 Bryce Steiert and No. 6 Isaiah White traded escapes at 165 pounds, but White's riding time gave him the 2-1 decision for Nebraska.
UNI took back the momentum at 174 pounds. A takedown early in the first period helped Taylor Lujan rack up riding time. His 10-5 decision over Nebraska's No. 9 Mikey Labriola was the highest ranked wrestler Lujan has beaten this year.
UNI dropped the final three matches to secure the win for Nebraska. The Panthers continue to lead the series with the Huskers, 29-17-1.
