Maahs to Miss Remainder of Season

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Preseason All-Conference forward Megan Maahs will miss the remainder of the 2018-19 season after suffering an injury early in UNI's 64-60 win over North Dakota Tuesday at the McLeod Center.
Maahs led the Panthers in rebounds, blocks and double-doubles and was tied for the top spot in field goal percentage. She was a First-Team All-MVC selection a season ago after averaging 10.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game.
"First and foremost our thoughts are with Megan in her recovery and rehab," head coach Tanya Warren said. "I have no doubt she will return stronger next season. In regards to our team and moving forward, there is a blessing in every storm. We have talked about our depth all year and now it's time for those young women behind her to step up. Our goals remain the same. Get better each day and hopefully be playing our best basketball in March."
The Panthers are in the midst of the longest layoff in the season. They return to action on Sunday, Dec. 16 against Iowa on the road in Iowa City.
