CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI wrestling team is set to open its first home event of the 2019 season with the UNI Open Saturday.

Fans are encouraged to bring an item to donate to Toys for Tots. Bins will be located on the UNI-Dome concourse floor to collect items for families in need this holiday season.

Action will get underway at 9 a.m. in the UNI-Dome. Season tickets include this event. Tickets at the door will be $10.

Fans can expect to see nearly every Panther taking a redshirt this season along with a handful of starters. At least 19 schools are expected to be represented in the all-day event.

The Panthers are coming off one of their strongest showings at the Cliff Keen Invite with a fourth-place finish. Drew Foster and Taylor Lujan finished third at the prestigious event.

UNI will follow up this weekend with its first home dual 2 p.m. Dec. 16. The Panthers will be on the road much of January before returning to the West Gym to host Air Force Jan. 20.
