Panthers Look to Extend Winning Streak

CEDAR FALLS—The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team is set for a pair of Labor Day weekend matches at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
The Panthers (3-0-0 overall) will play host to North Dakota State (0-4-0 overall) on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. Friday's match will mark the 10th meeting between the Bison and the Panthers, with NDSU leading the series 6-3-0. The Panthers won last season's match in Fargo, 2-0.

MVC Honors
Senior Sarah Brandt earned MVC Offensive Player of the Week honors this week after her performance this weekend. Brandt was also named to the preseason All-Conference team.
Yount Scoring
Junior Brynell Yount (Aurora, Colo.) has scored in each of UNI's games this season, with three goals. Yount also nabbed an assist in Sunday's 2-0 victory over South Dakota.
Snapping Streaks
UNI snapped both Omaha and South Dakota's winning streaks against the Panthers this weekend. Friday marked only the second all-time win for UNI against Nebraska-Omaha. The first victory came in the 2000 season and was UNI's first triumph in its program's history. The Panthers posted a 3-1 win over the Mavericks on Sept. 10, 2000. UNI is 2-2-1 all-time vs. Nebraska-Omaha. Omaha fell to 0-3. Prior to Sunday's match, South Dakota had won three of the last four, including two straight in Vermillion. South Dakota falls to 0-4 on the year.
