UNI Sets WBB Non-Conference Slate

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team will play a 14-game home schedule in 2017-18, including five times in the McLeod Center for non-conference play.
Head coach Tanya Warren enters her 11th season at the helm of the Panther program, owning a school-record best 186 victories. Warren and the Panthers posted a 24-9 mark last season, which saw the Panthers earn their first-ever at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament.
UNI will play its exhibition opener at home against Sioux Falls on Nov. 5. The Panthers will open regular season play also in the McLeod Center against IUPUI on Nov. 10. UNI topped IUPUI in last season's opener, 69-62.
The Panthers will play host to intra-state rival Iowa State on Nov. 14.
The Panthers will head to Warren's alma mater on Nov. 21 to take on the Creighton Bluejays in Omaha, Nebraska. UNI picked up a 50-49 win over Creighton last season in the McLeod Center.
UNI will travel to Orlando, Florida, to take part in the UCF Tournament on Nov. 25-26 to play Wyoming and UCF. The opponents for each day of the UCF Tournament have not been set yet.
The Panthers will remain on the road for their next three games with contests at South Dakota State (Nov. 30), at North Dakota (Dec. 2) and at Nebraska-Omaha (Dec. 6).
UNI returns home to take on Wisconsin-Parkside on Dec. 10 before playing host to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Dec. 17 in the McLeod Center.
The non-conference finale is set for Dec. 21 when the Panthers travel to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. Last season, UNI knocked off No. 24-ranked Kansas State in the McLeod Center, 67-59.
