Panthers Net 5-2 Win over Montana

GRAND FORKS, North Dakota--The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team extend their winning streak to two, defeating Montana 5-2 this morning.

Senior Elvira Lopez would defeat Lidia Dukic in the No. 2 singles spot 6-2, 7-6 (2). Gisela Kemper would win in the No. 4 singles, netting a 6-4, 7-6 (3) win over Nathalie Joanlanne. Astrid Santos would net a 6-0, 7-5 win over Cat Orfanos. Sydney Wolfe nabbed the final UNI victory in singles play, winning 6-3, 6-3 over Anabel Carbo.

Hannah Sulz of Montana would defeat Jieke Stroobant in the No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1.

Lopez and Santos would be the only Panthers pair to win the doubles action. The duo nabbed a 6-3 win over Sulz and Orfanos in the No. 1 doubles spot.

The Panthers will finish the North Dakota trip, when they take on North Dakota at 5 p.m. tonight.
