Tennis Heads for Two-Day Trip to North Dakota

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa-- The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team is hitting the road, for a two-day tournament, Feb. 17-18, hosted by the University of North Dakota.

The Panthers will take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits at 5 p.m. on Fri. Feb. 17. The Panthers will play two games of Feb. 18. The Panthers start the day, facing Montana at 9 a.m. before playing the host, North Dakota at 5 p.m.

Last Time in Action

The Panthers fell to Milwaukee, 4-3 on Feb. 10. In singles action, UNI nabbed wins in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 spots. Jieke Stroobant defeated Milwaukee's Eszter Zador, 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 2 spot, Elvira Lopez also nabbed a win over Labina Petrovska, 6-2, 6-3. Gisela Kemper would go all three sets to win in the No. 4 spot, defeating Alysa Straub, 6-7, 6-4, 10-4.

The only Panther duo to win in doubles action would be Kemper and Eve Small in the No. 3 spot, defeating Masha Lobanova and Masdevall Masip, 6-2.
