MILWAUKEE, WIS.-- The University of Northern Iowa women's fell in action today at Milwaukee, 4-3.

In singles action, UNI nabbed wins in the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 spots. Jieke Stroobant defeated Milwaukee's Eszter Zador, 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot. In the No. 2 spot, Elvira Lopez also nabbed a win over Labina Petrovska, 6-2, 6-3. Gisela Kemper would go all three sets to win in the No. 4 spot, defeating Alysa Straub, 6-7, 6-4, 10-4.

Milwaukee won in the No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots. UNI's Astrid Santos fell to Hayley Marshall, 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. Sydney Wolfe would fall in the No. 5 slot to Berta Masdevall Masip 6-1, 6-4. Milwaukee's Nicole Clarke would go all three sets to defeat Eve Small of UNI, 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The only Panther duo to win in doubles action would be Kemper and Small in the No. 3 spot, defeating Masha Lobanova and Masdevall Masip, 6-2. Marshall and Straub would defeat Lopez and Santos, 6-1 in the No. 1 spot. Stroobant and Wolfe would fall to Petrovska and Zador in the No. 2 spot, 6-2.

The UNI Tennis teams heads to Grand Forks, North Dakota on Feb. 17-18 for a two-day tournament.
