UNI Wrestling Grabs 6 Titles at 2017 Harold Nichols

AMES, Iowa – UNI wrestling kicked off its season grabbing six titles at the Harold Nichols Open.
UNI won three weights with Jay Schwarm at 125 pounds, Taylor Lujan at 174 pounds and Carter Isley at heavyweight. In the freshman/sophomore division, Panthers Jack Skudlarcyzk (133 pounds), Triston Lara (149 pounds) and Patrick Schoenfelder (165 pounds) won titles.
The Panthers led all teams in falls, notching 13. Isley grabbed three quick falls in 8 minutes, 18 seconds and knocked off 2017 NCAA qualifier Marcus Harrington of Iowa State 3-2 for the heavyweight title.

DAVE SCHULTZ MEMORIAL
Former UNI All-American Joe Colon won the Dave Schultz Memorial at 61K, beating Nahshon Garrett 14-3.  Former Panther Blaize Cabell was runner-up to Min Won Seo of Korea, the 2016 World Military bronze medalist. Seo won 12-9.NEXT UP
