HWT John McConkey Signs With UNI Wrestling

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - Doug Schwab and UNI wrestling signed John McConkey of Atlantic for the 2018-19 season.Â
Heavyweight McConkey is ranked No. 9 in the nation by FloWrestling and is No. 10 in Intermat's rankings. He is No. 37 on the IAWrestle's preseason Fab50 list.Â

McConkey finished his junior season 53-4 as the runner-up in at the Iowa High School State Championship Class 2A at 285 pounds. He was eighth as a sophomore in 2016.Â
At the Iowa/USA Junior Freestyle State Championship, he took second at 285 pounds.Â
McConkey and Gordon join Bryce Esmoil of West Liberty, Iowa, and New Hampton's Michael Blockhus and Noah Glaser.
