Panthers Face Ramblers in Final Regular Season Road Match

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa—The University of Northern Iowa Panthers (11-3-1, 3-2 MVC) will face their final regular season road match, Oct. 21 against Loyola Chicago.
The Ramblers (11-5, 3-2 MVC) post a matching conference record to the Panthers and share the No. 2 spot behind conference leader Drake. The Ramblers are led offensively by Jenna Szczesny and Katie Grall. The pair have played in all 16 games for the Ramblers, with Szcezesny leading with 11 goals.
The Panthers snapped a two-game skid on last Sunday, with a late overtime goal by Allison Bitter. Bitter's goal added to the record-breaking season for the Panthers and set the single-season wins record.
Offensively, Sarah Brandt and Brynell Yount have helped to lead the Panthers. Yount has found the net seven times, while Brandt has found the net six. Between the posts, junior Jami Reichenberger starting in all games, with eight shutouts. Reichenberger currently leads the Valley in both goals against average (0.65) and shutouts.
Brandt is only one point away from becoming the all-time single-season point scorer for the Panthers.
The match on Saturday will be the tenth meeting between the teams. UNI won in the regular season last year, but Loyola defeated the Panthers in the opening round of the Missouri Valley Conference Soccer Championships.
Battle in the Goal
Loyola leads the NCAA and the Valley in total goals with 56 this season. UNI leads the Valley with fewest goals allowed. The Panthers average 0.67 per game.
Between the posts, Jami Reichenberger has started in all games for UNI, with eight shutouts. Reichenberger currently leads the Valley in both goals against average (0.67) and shutouts (8).
