Atkinson Posts 3rd Straight Top-10 Finish

JONESBORO, Ark. - Sophomore Dustin Atkinson recorded his third straight top-10 finish this spring with a tie for seventh at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate.
The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team competed at the RidgePoint Country Club in a 54-hole tournament held Monday and Tuesday.
Atkinson shot a final round 76 for a three-round total of 215. Atkinson recorded his lone birdie of the day at the par-5 sixth hole. Atkinson also posted his 19th sub-80 round on the season.
David Spangler shot UNI's low round of the day with a 75. Spangler's round included a trio of birdies at No. 4, No. 8 and No. 18. His 75 on Tuesday was one off his season-low round of 74 set in the Panthers's previous performance at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate on March 21 in Springfield, Mo. Spangler tied for 52nd in this week's event with a three-round total of 227.
Kyle Driscoll fired a 79 to finish in a tie for 24th overall. Driscoll recorded a birdie at the par-4 first hole. Driscoll added to his team-best sub-80 rounds with his 21st such round on the season.
Jacob Bermel shot a 79 for a three-round total of 231. Bermel has 16 sub-80 rounds this year.
Eric Sikkema tied for 58th after shooting a final round 79. Sikkema notched his lone birdie of the day at the par-4 11th hole. Sikkema has 17 rounds in the 70s this season.
UT-Martin won the team title with a three-round score of 852. UNI finished eighth in the team race with an 892 total through 54 holes.
