Three UNI Wrestlers Place at Harold Nichols Open

AMES, Iowa – Three Panther wrestlers placed at the Harold Nichols Cyclone Open today.

UNI's Carter Isley and Brody Beck took fourth, and Rudy Yates placed fifth.
Heavyweight Isley was edged out in sudden victory by Utah Valley's Jordan Karst to take fourth. He won his first match by fall and earned a major decision later in the tournament.

Beck was bumped to the 165-pound consolation round with a 7-5 loss to 2016 NCAA qualifier Dane Pestano of Iowa State. He eventually fell to Wisconsin's Jacob Covaciu to place fourth.

Freshman Yates, wrestling unattached at 133 pounds, beat last year's starter Nathan Boston from Iowa State in sudden victory. The pair met again, and Yates won by medical forfeit.
