The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team will open Missouri Valley Conference play on Friday, Jan. 1 when they take on Evansville at 7 p.m. The matchup is part of a two-game home swing, with the Panthers taking on Southern Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m.
The Series: UNI leads the all-time series against the Evansville Purple Aces, 27-19. The Panthers are 16-5 in Cedar Falls against Evansville, including seven straight wins inside the McLeod Center. The Panthers have won 13 of the last 14 contests against Evansville and are 13-4 all-time against the Purple Aces during the Tanya Warren era.
