Panthers Head to Kansas Invitational

Cedar Falls, Iowa—The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team (5-3) will pack their bags and head to the Kansas Invitational, hosted by the University of Kansas. The three day meet will take place Nov. 20-22 in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Panthers will compete against Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa State, Illinois, and Nebraska-Omaha.
The teams will swim in tandem units, representing Big 12, Big Ten and two mid-major schools.
Last Time In The Pool:
The Panthers swimming and diving team swam to a victory over the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks, 173-127. The Panthers took home first place finishes in nine events.
Honors for the Panthers:
Sophomore Molly Lembezeder and Senior Allie Bey were named swimmer and diver of the week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Lembezeder of Peosta, Iowa broke her record in the 50 Freestyle over the weekend, plus nabbed three first place finishes. Lembezeder broke her school record by one one-hundredth in the 50 Freestyle, with a time of 23.63. Lembezeder had set the previous school record during the 2014-2015 season. Lembezeder's first place finishes today came in the 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle respectively. Lembezeder also had season best times in the 100 Freestyle and 200 Freestyle with times of 51.84 and 1.54.01. Lembezeder continues to have some of the top times in the Valley.
Bey of Forest Lake, Minnesota led her competition in the 1-Meter Dive, winning the event with a score of 262.72. Bey also got a new season best score in the 1-Meter Dive. Bey was three points away from qualifying for the NCAA Zone 'D' Championships with her 1-Meter Dive score. On the 3-Meter Dive, Bey scored 248.69, nabbing the second place finish.
