Panthers Wrap Up Competition At Home

Cedar Falls, Iowa---The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team looks to conclude action at home this week.
On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Panther women play host to the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks at 1 p.m. in the Glen. F. Henry Pool. The Panthers come into the meet with a record of 4-3, with wins over Loras and Iowa Central on Nov. 6.
The Mavericks come into the meet with a record of 3-2, having lost to Iowa State on Oct. 30.
UNI hopes to take down some records when the meet kicks off at 1 p.m. Admission is free to the meet.

The Panthers defeated Loras 174 to 56 and Iowa Central 169-78. The Panther women swept all of the events across the board.
Junior Veronica Herrmann swam into first place in the 100 Butterfly a full two seconds ahead of her runner-up. Herrmann swam a time of 1:00.85. Herrmann got the chance to try a shorter race as her specialty is Breaststroke/IM.Â
Sophomore Molly Lembezeder, a designated sprinter for the Panthers, performed exceptionally well in the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle races, taking first in both events. Lembezeder swam a 1:54.72 in the 200 Freestyle and a 5:15.00 in the 500 Freestyle.Â
Junior Aftin Phyfe showed that she is a jack of all trades. Phyfe competed in the 1000 Freestyle and easily grabbed the first place spot. Phyfe swam a time 10:52.79 in the event.
