Iowa Nets 7-0 Win Over UNI

IOWA CITY, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday.
UNI (2-3 overall) was able to pick up a victory at No. 1 doubles from Elvira Lopez and Jieke Stroobant over Iowa's Shelby Talcott and Annette Dohanics, 6-3. However, Iowa was able to capture the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Lopez lost a hard-fought, 6-4, 7-6 decision to Iowa's Anastasia Reimchen at No. 2 singles.
Astrid Santos split sets with Iowa's Katie Zordani at No. 4 singles, but Santos suffered an ankle injury and was unable to continue in the third set.
The Panthers will open their home season this Friday at 4 p.m. against Creighton. The match will take place at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo.
