
All Five Starters Reach Double Figures In UNI's 83-63 Win Over ILS

NORMAL, Ill. – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team picked up its first conference win of the season with all five starters scoring in double figures. The Panthers defeated Illinois State 83-63 to improve its overall record to 5-8 and 1-1 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Stephanie Davison finished with a team-leading 20 points, while Jen Keitel notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Brittni Donaldson added 19 points as well, with Brooke Brown and Hannah Schonhardt scoring 13 and 11 points, respectively.
UNI started the game on a 10-2 run over the Redbirds, capped off by a three-pointer from Davison at the 17:14 mark in the first half. Illinois State cut the UNI lead to three off a jumper from Alison Seberger, but Brown banked in a three-pointer to put UNI back up 14-8.
The Panthers took a nine-point lead when Keitel scored four straight points after grabbing two strong offensive boards and two put-backs to give UNI a 19-10 advantage with 9:54 on the clock. Illinois State countered with a 7-0 run to cut it to a two-point game before Davison knocked down a three-pointer to make it 22-17 in favor of UNI.
UNI jumped back out to a nine-point lead again when Keitel hit a mid-range jumper and Donaldson followed with an open three-pointer to make the score 30-21. The Panthers went on a streak after three treys in a row and several free throws to go into halftime with a 43-26 lead.
Davison scored four of the Panthers first eight points in the second half, giving UNI a 51-32 lead with 15:01 on the clock. Keitel then knocked down her fourth three-pointer of the season at the 14:29 mark to extend the Panther lead to 56-32.
Illinois State was able to go on a 10-2 run on the Panthers with 7:47 left in the second half, cutting the UNI lead to 67-50. UNI then jumped out to a 22-point lead with 3:24 remaining when Donaldson hit two free throws to give UNI a 79-57 lead.
UNI finished the game with a 20-point lead over the Illinois State Redbirds, picking up a 83-63 victory. UNI will return to action on Jan. 10 inside the McLeod Center when they host Evansville at 7 p.m.

UNI finished with all five starters scoring in double figures against Illinois State (Jen Keitel, 19 pts; Hannah Schonhardt, 11 pts; Brittni Donaldson, 19 pts; Stephanie Davison, 20 pts; Brooke Brown, 13 pts).
Brittni Donaldson finished with a career-high 19 points against Illinois State. She also scored a career-high five three-pointers. Her previous career-high 14 points was set against North Dakota State last season.
Brooke Brown scored a season-high 13 points against Illinois State. Her career-high is 18 points, which she scored against Drake last season. She also finished a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
Brittni Donaldson notched a career-high seven boards and a career-high 34 minutes played.
UNI notched a season-high 11 three-pointers made against the Redbirds. UNI has finished with 10 made three-pointers twice this season (vs. Iowa State, 12/4; vs. NIU, 12/21).
Jen Keitel notched her second double-double of the season and the third of her career. She finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
Stephanie Davison tied her career-high in three-pointers made at four. She set the total against Minnesota on Nov. 9.
