Panthers Drop Dual to North Dakota

CEDAR FALLS, IA - The University of Northern Iowa swimming and diving team was defeated by North Dakota on Friday afternoon. Despite the loss the Panthers had some outstanding performances in the pool.
Swimming
In the 100 yard freestyle freshman Aftin Phyfe scored the win with a time of 54.50. Junior Mikki Freese was the victor of the 50 meter freestyle with a time of 25.06.
Taylor Ostrowski won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.52. Ostrowski also won the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 59.76.
Panthers freshman Veronica Hermann won the 200 yard breaststroke. Hermann recorded a time of 2:29.12 in her win.
Diving
In 1 meter diving it was Sarah Kemp taking third place for the Panthers. Kemp recorded a diving score total of 235.3.
The 3 meter dive was highlighted by Allie Bey's performance. Bey final score was 261.60, good for a first place finish and 9 points.
The Panthers return to the pool on the weekend of November 22nd. They will be taking part in the Kansas Invitational in Wichita that runs Friday through Sunday.
