UNI Women's Tennis Adds Two for 2011-12 Season

University of Northern Iowa head women's tennis coach Sachin Kirtane
announced the addition of two student-athletes to the Panthers' roster
for the 2011-12 season. Cassandra Dix (Northamptonshire, United Kingdom)
and Nina Phaler (Esslingen, Germany) will compete for the Panthers this
upcoming season.
"Cassandra has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the under-18 rankings in the United Kingdom," Kirtane said. "She is currently ranked No. 8 in the U.K. She has a lot of experience playing junior tournaments all over the United Kingdom. We are very excited about the prospect of having her join the team and strengthen our roster for the upcoming year."
"Nina has been ranked No. 210 in the German women's rankings," Kirtane said. "She has a lot of experience playing against the best players in Germany. She will definitely make our roster stronger and deeper."
"We are pleased to add both Cassandra and Nina to our squad as they are both possess a strong combination of academics as well as tennis abilities. They will be ideal student-athletes at UNI. With what we have in place, these additions should help us compete at the highest level in the Missouri Valley Conference."
