University of Northern Iowa senior Holli Hosch has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Thursday.
Hosch (Walker, Iowa/Independence HS) earned second-team academic all-district honors in District VII. This season she won Missouri Valley Conference titles indoors and outdoors at 800m, as well as winning an indoor championship in the 4x400m relay. Hosch posted an indoor season-best time of 2:06.02 and an outdoor-best of 2:05.16 in the 800m, with both of those times setting new school records. She also recorded an MVC Championship meet record in the 800m at 2:07.37.
Hosch placed in the 800m at eight consecutive MVC Championships from 2008-11. She is a two-time qualifier for the NCAA Outdoor Championships at 800m and will run in the national semifinals at 6 p.m. on Wed., June 8, at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
Hosch holds a 3.37 GPA with a major in elementary education. She has also been named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team each season from 2009-11.
