CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa wrestling team suffered a 33-12 setback to No. 2-ranked Oklahoma State University in the consolation round of the 2011 NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals Saturday evening. With the loss, UNI is eliminated from the tournament.

The Panthers picked up wins from Ryan Loder (184 lbs.) and Christian Brantley (285 lbs.) while also earning a forfeit at 174 pounds. Loder finished the day with a perfect 3-0 record while Brantley went 2-1.

Oklahoma State jumped out to a 27-0 lead before the Panthers picked up points at 174 pounds from a forfeit and a win at 184 pounds. Loder topped No.11-ranked Chris Perry 8-2.

Following a Cowboy win at 197 pounds, Christian Brantley earned an 8-4 decision over Tyson Yoder.

UNI (5-7, 0-0 WWC) opens Western Wrestling Conference action next weekend, heading to North Dakota State Friday, Jan. 14. Action from Fargo, N.D. is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
