
Panthers Drop Road Contest to Evansville, 4-1

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team came up on the losing end of a Missouri Valley Conference match with Evansville on Sunday afternoon, falling by a final margin of 4-1.
UNI (4-11-2, 1-4-0 MVC) was outshot by the Purple Aces, 11-9, but managed to put five shots on goal in the contest.
Evansville (5-10-1, 2-3-0 MVC) struck first when Breanna Beine scored in the 20th minute. UNI answered just before halftime with a 44th-minute goal on a corner kick. Junior Megan Cameron headed the ball into the net and Missy Journot earned an assist on the play.
Kaitlin Robinett of Evansville scored the game-winner in the 77th minute before Evansville broke the game open with goals in the 82nd and 83rd minutes.
Senior Chelsie Hochstedler led the Panthers with three shots on goal. Freshman Erin Zaideman made the start at goalkeeper for UNI.
The Panthers will return home for their final regular season match and Senior Night on Thurs., Oct. 28, when they host Drake. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
