Doerfler Finishes in Tie for 11th Place to Pace UNI Golf at Dallio Memorial

University of Northern Iowa junior Jared Doerfler completed the John Dallio Memorial with a third-round 78 to finish in a tie for 11th place individually. As a team, the Panthers moved up one spot on the leaderboard on the final day to also finish in 11th place.
For the tournament, Doerfler posted a 77-72-78—227 card to end at 11-over par. Senior Andy Wass rounded out the UNI competitors with a 245 (+29).
UNI stood in 12th place as a team following day one, but the Panthers were able to move up one place on a day that saw the field's average round scores jump three strokes.
Host DePaul University captured the team championship by shooting 293-289-298—880 (+16). Individual medalist honors went to Greg Doherty of DePaul, who fired a one-over par 217 for the tournament.
Another group of five UNI golfers are competing at the ORU Shootout in Broken Arrow, Okla. The team will return to action at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill., on Oct. 11-12.
