CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team struggled to find an offensive rhythm falling 8-0 to the University of Missouri Friday evening.
The Tigers jumped to an early 3-0 lead in the first period and later added five additional goals in the second half.
The Tiger defense kept the Panther offensive attack in check all night, allowing the Panthers just two shots. Melissa Hagan and Ashley Capone each registered a shot for the Purple and Gold.
Goalkeeper Lauren Potzman registered 11 saves in the contest.
The Panthers open Missouri Valley Conference play Sunday at Missouri State. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
