CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 3-1 to North Dakota Friday afternoon. Chelsie Hochstedler scored the lone goal for the Panthers, taking a pass from Kelsey Dolder off a corner kick.
The Panthers struck first, scoring in the 19th minute. The Fighting Sioux knotted the score in the 31st minute and later took the lead in the second period, scoring two goals.
"We allowed UND to set the tone for the game and even though we scored first we still didn't match their effort," UNI head coach James Price said. "We have to remember that we need to outwork every team we play to give ourselves a chance to win."
The Panthers return to the field Sunday, August 30 to face UW-Green Bay. Action is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
