
Panthers Fall Short To Iowa State; UW-Green Bay

The Women's Swimming and Diving team finished short against Iowa State and UW-Green Bay Saturday afternoon. The Panthers fell 221 to 77 to Iowa State and 234.5 to 64.5 to UW-Green Bay.
Chelsea Hartman took third in the 1,000 freestyle. She clocked in with a time of 10:32.38. Hartman also took the runner-up spot in the 500 freestyle. She finished with a time of 5:09.84.
Josie Itzen, with a time of 2:00.01, took sixth in the 200 freestyle. Itzen took sixth in the 100 freestyle, clocking in with a time of 55.42. In the 200 IM, Itzen finished with a time of 2:16.18, good enough for sixth.
Abby Girard took fifth in the 100 backstroke. She clocked in with a time of 1:01.61. Girard also took fourth in the 200 backstroke. She finished with a time of 2:13.35.
Maggie Rickert continues to swim well as she took fourth in the 50 freestyle (25.23). She also swam the 100 butterfly coming in at 1:01.12. Stephanie Frederick swam the 50 freestyle, clocking in with a time of 25.45.
Lauren Nelson took fifth, with 217.15 points, in the 3-meter dive.
The Panthers will have a month break before competing again. The swimming and diving team will head to the Florida Atlantic Invitational on Jan. 2, 2010. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m.
