
Panthers in Third After Day 2 at Iowa Invitational

The Women's swimming and diving team stands in third after Day 2 of the Iowa Invitational. The Panthers have 395.5 points as they head into the last day of competition.
The 200 medley relay team of Sarah Heeden, Caitlin Krengel and Kelly Mateas finished in eighth with a time of 1:56.64.
Josie Itzen, with a time of 4:31, finished in sixth in the 400 IM.
Maggie Rickert took seventh in the 100 butterfly. She clocked in at 59.31. In the prelims, Rickert broke the school record with a qualifying time of 58.42. The previous school record was 59.38, which was held by Rickert herself.
In the 200 freestyle, Chelsea Hartman finished in eighth with a time of 1:57.60. Teammates Stephanie Yattoni and April Mangrich also swam the 200 freestyle coming in at 2:00.63 and 2:01.46, respectively.
Ashley Mangrich took sixth in the 100 breaststroke. She finished with a time of 1:08.43.
Abby Girard took fifth in the 100 backstroke. She finished with a time of 59.61. Jean Matzen (1:03.16) took seventh and eighth, respectively.
Abby Girard and Josie Itzen swam the 800 freestyle relay, coming in at 7:56.83.
The Panthers will compete in the final day of the Iowa Invitational Sunday, Nov. 22. Prelim competition is set to begin at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 4 p.m.
