
UNI in 12th After First Day of Weibring Intercollegiate

In its final fall meet of the 2008-09 season, the University of Northern Iowa men's golf team stands in 12th place after the first two rounds of the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate, hosted by the Illinois State University. The tournament is being played at Weibring Golf Club, a par-70 course of 6,681 yards.
UNI shot 293 in the first 18 holes and followed with a 301 in the day's second round, to stand at +34 after 36 holes of play. UNI is only one shot out of the top 10 with 18 holes left on Monday morning. Illinois is the tournament leader after the first two rounds, having shot 276-279—555 (-15).
Tyler Johnson is the top UNI individual, after he posted a 75-74—149 total (+9), which tied him for 42nd position. Just one shot behind Johnson are Troy Hoffman (74-76—150), Matt Sargent (73-77—150) and Jared Doerfler (73-77—150), each tied for 48th place. Scott Langley of Illinois is the individual leader with a 64-67—131 (-9) card.
