The senior duo of Brook Maher (Monroe, Iowa/Prairie City-Monroe) and Jordan Weber (
Maher continued to show great improvement and leadership as he stands tied for third with an even-par 140 on the opening day at the Weibring Golf Club. The senior recorded a 72 in the first round and a low 68 to follow up in the second.
Weber followed behind Maher tying for 19th place, firing a 145. Weber struggled in the first round with a score of 76, but countered it with a low of 69 in the second round.
The junior pair of Eric Sipple (Waverly, Iowa/Waverly-Shell Rock) and Blake Hibben (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) tagged close behind. Sipple stands tied for 32nd in the tournament, carding a 148. The junior recorded a low round of 72 on the day. Hibben is in 44th place, executing a 151. Hibben scored a 78 in the first round, but came back strong in the second with a low of 73.
