Cassie Hager Named MVC Player of the Week

For the second time this season, senior center Cassie Hager (Perry, Iowa) has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Hager shot 70.6 percent from the field (12-17) in two games last week, along with sinking 11-of-11 free throws. She nearly averaged a double-double, tallying 17.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg. She tallied 10 blocks overall, driving her career total to 271 swats.

Hager also posted a career-high 27 points and a game-high nine rebounds to lead the Panthers past Illinois State Thursday (1/12). Hager went 3-for-3 from the field, nailed two free throws and had three blocks in the final eight minutes of the game.

This is the fourth time Hager has been named Player of the Week in her career.
