High School: Earned honorable mention all-state honors in 2014 at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin ... posted second-team all-conference honors in the Southern Lakes Conference for coach Jean Jacobs ... served as team captain in 2014 ... elected her team MVP in 2012, 2013 and 2014 ... played club volleyball her senior year with the Milwaukee Sting for coach Scott Blackman.
Personal: Daughter of Sarah Jones and Jeff Schroeder ... plans to major in mathematics.
“Katie is a very long and athletic middle blocker that will add size and quickness to that position,” UNI head coach Bobbi Petersen said. “She is very versatile and could also help us at either pin position. Katie brings a big presence at the net and has a great jump that will assist with her effectiveness both offensively and defensively. She moves well laterally, has a fast arm, and the ability to have a strong press on the block. Katie has a huge upside and we are looking forward to working with her and watching her grow and develop over the next few years.”
