Barney comes to UNI from Cedar Falls High School as the reigning IBCA Class 5A Player of the Year and a McDonald’s All-America nominee...Also earned IGCA Academic All-State and IGCA Senior All-Star recognition...Three-time All-State selection for the IGCA (2020-21 First Team, 2019-20 Second Team, 2018-19 Third Team)...Three-time All-State honoree for the IPSWA (2020-21 First Team, 2019-20 and 2018-19 Second Team)...Four-time All-Mississippi Valley Conference (three-time First Team) including 2020-21 Mississippi Division Player of the Year accolades...Started all 90 games played across four seasons with the Tigers...2021 Class 5A All-Tournament Team member after helping Cedar Falls reach the state quarterfinals for the third time in four years...Led all Class 5A players as a senior with 503 points, 209 rebounds, 57 blocks, 186 field goals made, 394 field goals attempted, 132 three-point attempts, 92 free throws made, 118 free throws attempted, and 161 defensive rebounds...Finished career with 1,455 total points (second in program history) along with 556 rebounds, 272 assists, 205 steals, 185 blocks...45.0% shooter from the field (560-of-1244), 32.2% from behind the arc (139-of-432), and 69.5% from the charity stripe (196-of-282)...Averaged 24.0 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior...Also recorded double-digit scoring averages as a junior (17.3 PPG) and a sophomore (15.0 PPG)...9.3 points per game as a freshman.

Majoring in biology with an emphasis on chiropractic care.
