J.J. Reimer is in his third season as an assistant coach for the University of Northern Iowa softball team.
Prior to joining the UNI coaching staff, Reimer served as the head coach/hitting coach of the DRBA Running Red (baseball/softball travel team). He also served as the HitTrax/Analytics Coordinator.
Reimer is a 2015 graduate of Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Reimer played two seasons of baseball for the Leathernecks in 2014 and 2015. He earned Second-Team all-Summit League honors as a junior and was a academic honor roll recipient as a senior.Â
Reimer began his collegiate career at Ellsworth Community College, where he was an All-Region and All-America selection.
A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Reimer graduated from Dubuque Wahlert High School in 2011. He was an elite all-state baseball player and was selected the Dubuque Player of the Year. He holds the Wahlert school records in hits, average, slugging percentage, doubles, home runs and RBI.
His sister, Sam, played softball at UNI from 2010 to 2013.
