Panthers celebrate five senior players ahead of Sunday's matchup.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI soccer celebrated its five senior players on Sunday afternoon, but would fall short in a 4-0 loss to Milwaukee in non-conference action at the UNI Soccer Field.

Northern Iowa struggled to control possession throughout the course of the contest as Milwaukee scored two goals in each half. Milwaukee would maintain its advantage offensively in the contest, leading UNI in shot attempts by a 21-3 margin , along with ten shots-on-goal opposed to the UNI's one.

Prior to the match, UNI celebrated its 2026 senior day, recognizing seniors Jenna Scholz, Kailey O'Brien, Ella Ubben, Maya Anderson and Camille Landphair.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After 26 scoreless minutes to begin the day, Milwaukee would net the first goal of the contest as former UNI defender Abby O'Brien found the back of the net unassisted in the 27th minute. Milwaukee would strike just seven minutes later in the 34th minute with Taylor Richards scoring on a penalty kick for a 2-0 halftime advantage.

The visitors would continue to capitalize on scoring opportunities in the second stanza with Emily Petiring scoring unassisted in the 64th minutes, and Ashlyn Deroiser striking late in the 88th minute.

Shaelee Franck would notch the lone shot on goal in the contest for Northern Iowa, while Morgan Smith and Audrey Still each took one shot attempt. Goalkeeper Poppy Anderson notched a season-high six saves in her second match for the Panthers in net.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Milwaukee now leads the all-time series 3-0-0 against UNI in women's soccer.
Camille Landphair made the first start of her career in Sunday's match in her 16th career match.
Kailey O'Brien made her first start as a Panther on Sunday, having previously started two games in her three previous seasons played at Youngstown State.
Jenna Scholz made her Panther debut against Milwaukee, after previously appearing in 34 combined matches over the previous three seasons at Wisconsin-Parkside and Alabama State.
