2026 UNI Athletics State Fair Breakfast registration now open

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The University of Northern Iowa will kick off UNI Athletics Day at the 2026 Iowa State Fair on Thursday, Aug. 13 with a breakfast event, as announced by the athletic department on Thursday.

Panther fans are encouraged to join UNI coaches, staff and administrators at the Cattlemen's Beef Quarters at 8 a.m. CT on the Iowa State Fairgrounds for breakfast from the Iowa Cattlemen's Association. Registration for the breakfast can be found HERE and is required for entry.

The breakfast will feature a program including remarks from Director of Athletics Megan Franklin to launch a special day of UNI activities at the State Fair, including fair day visits from mascots TC and TK, the UNI cheer team and Panther coaches. Peter Cownie, Executive Director of the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation and a member of the Iowa Board of Regents will also be a special guest speaker at the breakfast.

The University of Northern Iowa booth, located inside the Varied Industries Building, will also offer a plethora of opportunities to Panther fans, both old and new. Visitors will have the chance to learn about the university's programs, grab fall sport schedule posters, get new gear from the UNI Bookstore, experience the university's sesquicentennial traveling display and much more.

UNI's booth at the Iowa State Fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT at the Varied Industries Building throughout the entirety of the fair, which runs from Aug. 13-23. For more information about UNI activities at the State Fair, click HERE.
