UNI Men’s Golf Closes Out 2026 Season at MVC Championship

WATERLOO, Illinois --- The UNI men's golf team wrapped up its season Tuesday afternoon at the MVC Championship at the Annbriar Golf Course in Waterloo, Illinois, in ninth place with a total score of 902 (+50). Illinois State took home the team title, shooting a 838 (-13), while their own Francis Bautista claimed the individual title, carding a 203 (-10).
Senior Nile Petersen led the Panther men, finishing in a five-way tie for 21st place, shooting a score of 220 (+7). Petersen shot 76-72-72 over the three-day tournament, while sinking ten birdies. Junior Tanner Dinnebier placed in a five-way tie for 26th place with a score of 221 (+80), shooting his best round in round one with a score of 68 (-3) and recording seven birdies in that round. Senior Cooper Hanson finished in a tie for 41st place, shooting 230 (+17), shooting consistently in all three rounds with 77-78-75, including three birdies in round two.
Senior Calen Bishop finished in 43rd place with a total score of 232 (+19). Bishop shot his best round of the tournament in round one with a 76 (+5) while sinking four birdies. Freshman Anthony Galvin placed 45th, shooting 236 (+23), while shooting 79-78-79 over three rounds to end the tournament for the UNI men's golf team.
