UNI wrestling honors seven NWCA Scholar All-American selections

MANHEIM, Pa. --- The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) has announced its 2026 NCAA Division I Scholar All-American selections, celebrating student-athlete accomplishments on and off the mat.

Northern Iowa was honored with seven Scholar All-American selections this season, the most among Division I programs in Iowa and tied with North Dakota State for fifth-most in the Big 12 Conference. UNI saw five athletes qualify for this year's NCAA Championships in Cleveland.

Nominees for this honor are determined by both academic record and competition records. Student-athletes are eligible for Scholar All-American status with a top-eight NCAA Championship finish and a 3.00 grade-point average (GPA), an NCAA qualifying spot and a 3.2 GPA, a conference championship qualifying spot and 3.50 GPA or a 3.50 GPA with at least 15 matches completed with a 60% winning percentage.

"These student-athletes have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on the mat and in the classroom," said NWCA Executive Director Mike Moyer. "We commend their dedication and the example they set for the sport."

Of UNI's seven honorees, four qualified for the 2026 NCAA Championships, including one alternate and one other Big 12 Championship competitor.
