Trey Campbell earns Second Team All-MVC recognition, along with All-Defensive Team honors with Bond.
ST. LOUIS --- The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) on Wednesday morning announced the winners of its 2025-26 men's basketball specialty awards and all-conference teams on the eve of its annual tournament.
The MVC's all-conference teams and specialty award winners were voted on by the league's head coaches, sports information directors, media members and conference staff.
Trey Campbell was named Second Team All-MVC and to the conference's All-Defensive Team, while teammate Leon Bond III joined him on the All-Defensive Team as well. The full list of announced award winners is listed below. MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selections will be announced on Thursday.
A Cedar Falls native, Campbell led the Panthers with 13.2 points per game during the regular season on 43.4% shooting from the field. He also shot 32.3% from beyond the three-point arc with a team-high 53 made triples during the year, along with an 80% clip at the free throw line and a team-high 50 steals, third-most in the league this season.
The senior guard, who earned Third Team All-MVC recognition last season, notably scored a season-high 27 points in UNI's home win over Murray State in January and dished out a career-high ten assists against Evansville at home. Campbell scored his 1,000th career point in December in a win over Coe and currently ranks 14th all-time in program history in scoring (1,318). He has scored in double figures in 20 different games this year.
Having started all 31 regular season contests this year, Campbell's 127 career starts are most among active players in the MVC with 94 consecutive starts to his name. He also ranks in the top-six in Panther history in career steals (164), three-point field goals made (205) and three-point field goals attempted (552). Entering the MVC Tournament, Campbell sits just seven rebounds shy of becoming the first player in team history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 300 assists in a career.
A Wauwatosa, Wisconsin native, Bond earns his first MVC season honor after averaging a career-best 11.5 points per game while leading Northern Iowa this year with five rebounds a game and a team-high 25 blocked shots, ranking in the top-ten in the league.
Bond, who started all 31 games this year, scored in double figures 21 times during his redshirt junior campaign, posting a season-high 26 points in December in a home win over Oakland, while also pulling down a career-high 11 rebounds in the Panthers' MVC opener at UIC.
Campbell, Bond and the Panthers open postseason play on Thursday night as sixth-seeded UNI takes on 11-seed Evansville in the opening round of the 2026 State Farm MVC Men's Basketball Tournament (commonly known as Arch Madness) at Enterprise Center in St. Louis. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. CT with live coverage available on the MVC TV Network/ESPN+ and the Panther Sports Radio Network.
