Nine Panthers tabbed to Phil Steele All-MVFC squad

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Phil Steele released his 2025 FCS season awards and the Panthers landed nine on the All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) list.
Tucker Langenberg was named to the All-MVFC First Team, Ryan Crandall was named to the Second Team, Blake Anderson and Owen Ostroski were named to the Third Team, JC Roque Jr., Jack Hearne, and Jonathan Cabral-Martin were named to the Fourth Team, and Bill Jackson and Derek Anderson were named to the Fifth Team.
TUCKER LANGENBERG (LB)
Tucker Langenberg led the Panther defense with 113 total tackles including 47 solo, 5.5 TFLs for six yards, and one sack for three yards. Langenberg recovered one fumble, the first of his career, and forced another against Youngstown State. The linebacker hurried the quarterback twice in 2025. The senior is fourth in the league and 18th in the FCS with 9.4 total tackles per game.
RYAN CRANDALL (LB)
Newcomer Ryan Crandall was second on the Panthers with 110 total tackles and led UNI with 58 solo tackles. Crandall's 11 TFLs for 34 yards also lead the Panthers. In the MVFC, Crandall is fifth in the league with 9.2 total tackles per game.
BLAKE ANDERSON (OL)
Blake Anderson was a staple on the UNI offensive line, starting all 12 games. The senior offensive lineman allowed just two sacks all season and a pressure percentage of 4.3% with 17 total pressures all season.
OWEN OSTROSKI (DL)
New to the Panthers, Owen Ostroski was a game wrecker on the defensive line, recording a team-high six sacks for 48 yards this season including a sack on fourth down to flip possession back to the offense in each of the games against NDSU and Youngstown State. Ostroski finished the season with 42 total tackles and three QB hurries as well as his first career interception with a 19-yard return. The newcomer is third in the league with half a sack per contest.
JC ROQUE JR. (WR)
JC Roque Jr. was a threat on every down out wide for the Panthers and recorded a team-high 595 yards and seven touchdowns on 56 receptions. Roque Jr. tabbed the first multi-touchdown game of his career in a matchup against Youngstown State. The sophomore receiver is fourth in the MVFC with seven receiving TDs and fifth with 4.67 receptions per game.
JACK HEARNE (OL)
Jack Hearne started 11 of the Panthers' 12 games this season, allowing just one sack and six total pressures for a 1.9% pressure percentage.
JONATHAN CABRAL-MARTIN (CB)
Jonathan Cabral-Martin started in all 12 matchups this season, recording 68 total tackles including 38 solo, 4.5 TFLs for 28 yards, and one sack for 13 yards and a fumble at Wyoming. Cabral-Martin tied a single-game record with five passes defended in the season opener against Butler.
BILL JACKSON (RB)
Bill Jackson finished the season with 450 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to go along with 316 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. The transfer running back recorded a season-best 143 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns against Murray State.
DEREK ANDERSON (TE)
Derek Anderson caught 20 balls for 184 yards with two touchdowns this year. He had two touchdowns with a long reception of 24 yards. He had a season-best four receptions with 43 yards and a score in the opener against Butler. Anderson also added a TD catch against UND.
