CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI Athletics and Panther football announced the addition of a pair of home-and-home series with Weber State and Northern Arizona to UNI's future slate. Each matchup will have a contest in 2027 with a return game in 2029.
Weber State makes its way to Cedar Falls in 2027, its fourth trip to the UNI-Dome in program history. The Wildcats return for the first time since 2023, looking for back-to-back wins in Cedar Falls after a 34-17 victory over the Panthers in 2023. UNI won the previous two meetings at home in 1980 and 1991. The Panthers return the favor in 2029 as they head to Ogden, Utah, for the third time in program history. The Cats are still looking for a victory in Ogden with a 0-2 record in the 1978 and 2019 meetings.
A "dome-and-dome" series against the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks sees the two teams meet for the first time since 2005. UNI is 3-1 in the all-time series, taking all three of the last three meetings. Inside the UNI-Dome, the Panthers are a perfect 2-0 with wins in 1990 and 2005. In Flagstaff, the Panthers are 1-1 with a loss in the programs' first meeting in 1988 and a win in 2004. The Cats will travel to Arizona next season (2027) before NAU returns to Cedar Falls for the first time since 2005 in the 2029 season.
