CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- Coming off the start of Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) play and the conclusion of a season-long four-match homestand, the UNI soccer team returns to the road for the first time in a month as the Panthers visit Kentucky to take on the Murray State Racers on Thursday afternoon.
Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT at Cutchin Field in Murray with live coverage of the match available on ESPN+. UNI holds a narrow 2-1-0 lead in the all-time series following a 3-1 Panther win in Cedar Falls last October, with Northern Iowa seeking their first road win against the Racers this week.
The Panthers closed out their long homestand last Saturday with a 3-3 draw against Indiana State. Two goals from Olivia Knoepfle and one from Allison Flies gave UNI a 3-1 lead in the second half, but the Sycamores would score twice in the final six minutes of play to even the score in both team's conference opening match.
Ten different Panthers have found the back of the net this year, with Macy Smith and Knoepfle leading the way with three goals each in 2025. Denise Camarena and Sydney Burskey have netted two each, while Sophia Balistreri, Ella Ubben, Haylee Braun, Aynslea Ulschmid, Olivia Mehl and Flies have all scored once.Â
In the record books, Knoepfle enters Thursday's match one assist shy of breaking another Ashley Harrington's (2020-23) record for career matches with an assist (13) after breaking her career assists record earlier this year, while also sitting second in team history in career points (51). Additionally, Camarena sits tied for eighth in UNI history with nine career assists, as Smith has recorded five career game-winning goals, fourth-most in team history.

SCOUTING MURRAY STATE
The Racers enter Thursday's match with a 5-3-2 record following a 1-1 tie at Illinois State in their MVC opener last Thursday. Murray State posted a 5-8-5 record in 2024 and finished tenth in the league standings with a 1-5-4 mark.
Led by eighth year head coach Matt Lodge, the Racers lead the MVC with 17.4 shots per match with forward Brees Baas , a 2025 Preseason All-MVC Honorable Mention selection leading MSU with a team-high three goals and four shot attempts per match. Junior goalkeeper Griselda Revolorio has started seven of the Racers' first ten matches with a .682 save percentage and a 2.02 goals allowed average.
