UNI women's tennis picks up second win at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The UNI women's tennis team battled through a competitive road contest on Friday, securing a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Panthers at RiverGlen Elite Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Panthers showcased resilience in singles play, claiming victories in four out of six matches. Senior Darta Dalecka led the charge, delivering a strong three-set victory over Elisa Rubio, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. Andjela Raznatovic continued her strong play with a straight-set win against Honoka Yamashita, 6-3, 6-4.
Kanyanut Sudsaard dominated her match, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Giorgia Cavestro. UNI also secured a point by default, as Milwaukee was unable to field a player in the number six spot.
Kim Zizek battled in a tight three-set contest but ultimately fell to Emilia Durska, 4-6,6-0, 7-6. Lorena Cardoso faced Laure Razet, dropping the match 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles play, the Panthers fought hard but could not secure the crucial doubles point. Darta and Cardoso fell to Razet and Rubio, 6-1, while Zizek and Raznatovic battled in a tight match but fell to Cavestro and Durska, 7-6. UNI picked up a win by default in the number three doubles spot.
With the Panthers' victory, UNI improves its record to 2-9 overall and gains momentum heading into its next match.
