CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI track and field team is set to return to action with the start of the 2025 outdoor season this week as select Panthers will head to St. Louis and Pella for the WashU Distance Carnival and the Central Invitational.
Competition at Francis Olympic Field in St. Louis will begin at 5:15 p.m. CT on Thursday, as well as 10:45 a.m. CT on Friday. UNI throwers at Central will go to work at 10 a.m. CT at Ron & Joyce Schipper Stadium.
Thursday's competition is expected to see three Panthers competing in the 10,000-meter run, including Kate Crawford and Eden Mueller, while Caleb Shumaker will run on the men's side.
Micah Rees, Colin Lillie, Chase Lauman and Levi Hill will be running in the 5,000 meters on Friday, with Emma Hoins, Melody Ochana, Lauren Klein and Leah Klapatauskas set to compete in the women's 5,000 meters. Drake Hanson is also slated to run the men's 800 meters.
Athletes expected to throw on Friday at the Central Invitational include Katie Fare, Breanna Hackman, Jorie Hanenburg, Emma Joens, Kileigh Lachacz, Spencer Kessel, Carson Lienau, Justin Olson, David Russell and Sebastian Swistak.
