CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI wrestling team is a feature team of an newly released E60 produced special feature, "Game On: Journey to the NCAA Championship" in the lead up to next week's NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia.
The hour-long program, hosted by Shawn Kenny, Rock Harrison and Quint Kessenich, and produced by Emmy award winner Ajay Atayee, takes a look into the world of four highly ranked Division I wrestling programs, including Northern Iowa, Oklahoma State, Penn State and Missouri. The feature includes interviews with head coach Doug Schwab, student-athletes Parker Keckeisen and Cael Happel and a look behind the scenes with the Panthers at practice and in competition.
The feature is now live on demand on ESPN+ and will also air at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 19 on ESPN2, the day prior to the start of the NCAA Championships.
UNI will compete in all ten weight classes in Philadelphia, the first time it has done so at the national championships since 1986. The Panthers clinched three individual titles at last week's Big 12 Championships in Tulsa (Parker Keckeisen, Cael Happel, Wyatt Voelker) while putting on a strong second-place team performance.
Live coverage of the NCAA Championships runs March 20-22 on the networks of ESPN.
UNI's new wrestling training facility project is a part of the university's Our Tomorrow campaign. Donations to the project are tax-deductible through the UNI Foundation and can be made outright or as a multi-year pledge. Gifts of $5,000 or more will be recognized on a donor wall within the new facility.
